The study aims at showing the connection of the art and craft of Armenian carpet weaving, which occupies a unique place in the ethno-cultural tradition, with the periods of Armenia’s economic, political and spiritual development from the early agricultural period to the Soviet years. An attempt is made in the study to reveal the preconditions and reasons for the upsurge and decline of Armenian carpet art. The study of the indissoluble ties between the Armenian carpet art and Armenian spiritual or folk and religious worships and rituals occupies a special place in the book.
