Atrpet, known as a writer to the public at large, was one of the eminent figures of the Armenian culture of the 19th-20th centuries. However, his published and unpublished travel notes and descriptive works provide invaluable, sometimes even primary information, on the geography, history, culture, and various archaeological monuments of the Armenian Highland.
This book presents a study on the monuments called “dragons” or dragon stones, and is envisaged for the specialists and those interested in the culture and art of the past.
The book cover and title page depict the Tsaghkavet Mountains in the Tortum region, a drawing of the title page of ” The Dragon Mother,” a story by Atrpet, and Gyol Yurt 1 and Darik 1 dragon stones (drawn by Atrpet and photographed by A. Bobokhyan)
