Description

This pair of remarkable earrings is made- by the example of gold crescent-shaped earrings, which have come down to us from the 8th – 7th centuries BC (Karmir Blour). The crescent-shaped earrings are hollow, with their ends wound with a gold wire. The surface is decorated with delicate granulation, arranged in triangular and crescent-shaped rows. In the 8th – 6th centuries BC, such earrings were widely spread in the countries of the Mediterranean Basin and were imported into the Kingdom of Van by trading routes.
