Doll “Bardzr Hayk”

Description

Dolls had a unique role in folk culture. These were items of joy and entertainment, which had a ritual-symbolic meaning as well.19-20 centuries in the real stage of life, the puppets reflected the images of adults, assigning, special roles to the player and the puppets. Their outfit was repeated and presented in a new way the features of traditional national costume.
The presented doll is made with the examples of the traditional clothes of Bardzr Hayk. The traditional dress of Upper Armenia belonging of the Western costume group were also expressed in Shirak and Javakhk. It consisted of an outer garment, a cardigan, and a belt- apron. The complex is distinguished by a harmonious combination of various pieces, the hem and apenings of the garment are gilded with luxurious embroidery.
