Egg-Shaped Pendant

Description

This original egg-shaped pendant is an imitation of decorative pendants of faience produced in Kutina in the 18^th century. In their egg decorations, masters of Kutina used white, which symbolized virgin purity, the sky-blue as the cloudless sky, yellow as the sun and origin of life, and green as a sign of flowering.  Egg-shaped pendants decorated chandeliers and lanterns of churches; they were suspended from the ceiling, creating a connection between the heaven and the earth.
